We team up with the Two Ridings Community Foundation to support more young people to take part in social action in the area. This was match-funded through the #iwill fund and forms part of our investment in the area through the Essential Life Skills Fund.
Here are the projects we have been able to support:
Art Therapy Yorkshire – an arts project with young people at risk of homelessness, this will enable them to build confidence and display their work as part of the wider Coastival festival.
Scarborough & District Citizens Advice Bureau – training for young people through a volunteering advice programme.
Sleight’s Area Men’s Shed – support for engagement with local schools to develop a social action programme around a ‘youth shed’
Coventry University Scarborough Student Union – funding for the students to develop a social action project in Scarborough.
Scarborough YMCA – personal development sessions for young people to encourage socially and politically active young people that are engaged with their communities.
Futureworks NY – a programme of personal development sessions and activities aimed at disadvantaged young people to build confidence and encourage participation in volunteering.
Scarborough & Ryedale Carers Resource – support for the young participants of the Youth Council in their campaign to promote awareness around young people’s mental health.
