Jen Rogers: Playing for Real
March 15 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am
‘Playing for Real – Games, Chance and Money’: Jen Rogers is a research fellow in the Department of Statistics at the University of Oxford. She has appeared as an expert statistician in the TV programmes Long Live Britain and Mystery Map – in which she calculated the chance of dying from spontaneous human combustion!
In this interactive show with plenty of audience involvement, Jen will introduce important ideas from statistics and probability by playing a range of games, some of them featuring money. There will be a chance to win prizes including (maybe) some money.
This event is aimed at Year 12 and 13 students studying STEM subjects. It will also be appropriate for Year 11 students in high-ability maths sets.
