Transport and Cover Costs
The Opportunity Area is also offering 50% travel subsidy for schools and settings bringing pupils to attend events.
If you would like to apply for subsidy, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org by the 28th of February with estimated travel costs.
There is also capacity for the Opportunity Area to reimburse schools for cover costs for members of teaching staff. Please contact email@example.com for more information.
Sumdog: Maths Competition
March 8 @ 8:00 am - March 14 @ 5:00 pm
As part of the North Yorkshire Coast Maths Month, pupils are invited to practise maths, have fun and compete against other classes to become the North Yorkshire Coast Sumdog Champions! The contest is completely FREE to enter and is a great way to motivate children and encourage teamwork. Play Sumdog in class or set it as homework, it all counts towards the contest!
Teachers can sign up their classes, and pupils simply compete by playing Sumdog’s online maths games. The winner will be the class with the most accurate scores over the week. All of the questions are tailored to each pupil’s level, giving everyone a fair chance of winning! The winning class will receive a 6-month subscription to Sumdog’s premium features, including teacher tools and extra activities!
Dates: The competition will run from the 8th – 14th of March.
Audience: The competition is open to all schools in Scarborough Local Authority District/ North Yorkshire Coast Opportunity area.
Sumdog content covers the maths curriculum from K1 – KS3.
Primary school pupils are likely get the most benefit from using Sumdog.
